Defender Strangles Ref! (video)

This weekend Paraguayan defender Jose Pedroso tried to strangle the referee. The game was between Pedroso's team Rangers and Deportes Concepcion, in the Chilean second division.

Pedroso was penalised for a violent challenge on an opponent which earned him his second yellow card and an early dismissal.

Pedroso grabbed referee Marcelo Miranda from behind by the throat. His teammates pulled him away, but then he returned for a second attack on Miranda. Finally he was escorted out of the ground by the police.
