In last week’s game against Arsenal he demonstrated all his superb capabilities by keeping the Gunners’ striker force at bay for almost the entire match. He didn’t get much support from his defence who seemed to be cut open with regular ease. He made ten good saves, but unluckily was unable to stop Alex Song’s 88th minute header which gave Arsenal the 1-0 victory.
I think he has more than made up for his blunder at 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and he was somewhat justified in venting his frustrations at the media (who have given him a tough time) through his gesture (pictured left) which was directed to the press box.
All his good shot-stopping doesn’t seem to have helped West Ham much though; they are still firmly rooted to the foot of the Barclays Premier League.
