Berbatov Bags Five

Dimitar Berbatov scored an impressive 5 goals in Manchester United’s 7-1 thrashing of Blackburn Rovers. He joins an elite list of only three other players who have scored five goals in a single premiership match.
They are Alan Shearer, Andy Cole and Jermaine Defoe.

Berbatov’s goals seem to be come in clumps as his five-goal haul follows an emphatics hat-trick against Liverpool in September. I’ve always preferred him to Wayne Rooney and I think, especially at the moment, he has much more to offer the team.

He is now the premiership’s top scorer this season with two more than second-placed Carlos Tevez and Andy Carroll.

Top Scorers:

D Berbatov  11
C Tevez        9
A Carroll       9
T Cahil          8
J Elmander  8

With all the shocks and upsets this season, it’s almost gone unnoticed than Man Utd have yet to lose a Premiership game this season. They have been far from their best, but have somehow still managed to grind out results, and are now sitting on top of the table.
