Neville spent his entire career, spanning almost twenty years, at Manchester United. You always have to respect players who are loyal (and who don’t get pushed away) to one club, it is something that has become increasingly rare these days.
He played 602 games for United and won 85 England caps, but he’s been under pressure to retain his spot lately, and hasn’t started a game since the Christmas period.
It was always suspected that he would go into coaching when he retired, and Sir Alex Ferguson has just named Neville as the new Youth Team Coach.
I’m sure Red Nev is going to be missed by all Manc fans, and probably won’t be missed by many of the neutrals, which is usually a testament to a good, competitive player.
